Job Title: Machine Operator (Rewind/Cutting)
Classification: Hourly ($18.50 - $19.50 hourly)
Anticipated Starting Pay Rate: $18.50 plus shift differential, where applicable
Shift: 1st shift (M-F 7:00am – 3:30pm)
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Department: Paper
Summary of Job
Responsible for monitoring the operation of assigned converting machine(s) ensuring product adheres to company standard of safety, quality, and throughput.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Start up and shut down the machine properly, to ensure the production of the highest quality finished product
- Set up and operate the equipment for various products
- Safely and efficiently produce product on assigned production area
- Housekeeping throughout assigned shift to ensure an orderly and safe environment.
- Physical and visual inspection of product is required to prevent non-conforming goods. Promptly reports all quality defects to the appropriate team members.
- Maintains appropriate level of production supplies/ materials as required, to ensure next shift operators incur minimal downtime.
- Continuously monitor machine operation to ensure accurate product measurements and quality are being maintained.
- Meets or exceeds production rates, minimize waste levels and meets all customer requirements.
- Sets up and adjusts rewinders.
- Neatly palletizes skids with finished product.
- Enters production reporting data into machine computer accurately.
- Separates scrap into appropriate film-type gaylord.
- Operates core cutting machine, vacuum lift, and pallet jack.
- Assist on or operate other converting or manufacturing equipment and perform preventative maintenance within the plant as assigned
- Acquires knowledge/ skills of Set-up Technicians to better assist and troubleshoot when needed.

- Adheres to the highest standards of company safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations including all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
- Attends meetings and completes safety trainings as required.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

- Prior SAP or similar ERP system knowledge.
- Read a tape measure to 1/32”
- Must be able to communicate (read and write) in English
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture.

- Occasional bending and twisting.
- Occasional reaching.
- Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed.

- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year manufacturing preferred
