Job Overview
We are a thriving practice with two locations in Brownsville, Texas. We have 3 MDs and 1 Optometrist as well as excellent technicians available to assist in your transition.
Our location offers an affordable cost of living and is a 30 minute drive to South Padre Island (the best beach in Texas) and Space X. We offer an attractive salary and an easily achievable productivity bonus, as well as a benefits package. The work week will range from 4-5 days and there is NO weekend work.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including routine vision examinations as well as exams for diagnosis, and treatment of various ocular conditions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and diagnose ocular conditions.
- Provide appropriate treatment plans based on patient needs, including prescribing corrective lenses and medications.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient interactions and treatments.
- Educate patients on eye health, proper contact lens care, and the importance of regular eye exams.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
- Stay updated with advancements in optometry practices, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology knowledge.
- Assist in the sales of optical products by providing recommendations based on individual patient needs.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Experience
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Previous experience in patient care within an optometric or ophthalmologic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for managing medical records is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to optometry and ophthalmology is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues in a professional manner.
