Clearfork Creek Farm is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. We donate 100% of our organically grown vegetables to food pantries in Parker County.
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Garden Manager to oversee the maintenance and development of our gardens and landscapes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in horticulture and organic gardening, with a passion for creating and sustaining beautiful garden spaces. This role requires leadership skills to supervise a team effectively while ensuring that all gardening tasks are completed to the highest standards.
Duties
- Manage and maintain all garden areas, ensuring they are healthy, vibrant, and aesthetically pleasing.
- Supervise garden staff, providing guidance and support in daily tasks.
- Oversee garden activities including planting, fertilizing, harvesting, mowing, weeding and pest control.
- Conduct regular inspections of garden areas to assess plant health and identify any issues.
- Plan and execute seasonal planting schedules to ensure continuous production throughout the year.
- Train staff on best practices for organic gardening, good maintenance and safe equipment use.
- Collaborate and assisting in planning with volunteers to coordinate garden projects and events.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in gardening. Organic preferred.
- Strong knowledge of horticultural practices and market garden vegetable production techniques.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in supervising teams.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions (able to lift 50lbs).
- A passion for gardening and a commitment to maintaining high standards in sustainable farming.
