KBI Medical is a Tennessee-based company specializing in sales and service to the orthopedic marketplace. Started in 2007, we specialize in bringing solutions to medical practices by anticipating customer needs and delivering a high level of service.
The backbone of the company is the orthopedic bracing market. Over the last two decades, servicing this need has opened doors to provide other meaningful services. We have a direct to clinician sales force representing the leading brands in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Podiatry and Physical Therapy.
What You'll Do
This is a new position representing several product lines in the Orthopedic Medical Device arena. In year one, the Sales Representative will work in his/her geographical area to quickly learn the dynamics of the Orthopedic office, its current customers and various business channels. They will be further tasked with identifying and cultivating potential customers as time goes on.
Essential functions:
Sales Activity
- Identifying and qualifying potential sales leads.
- Introduces the Company’s products to potential customers.
- Setting up meetings and in services to demo the company's products.
- Cultivates customer relationships by initiating contact with physicians, clinic staff, and other device users.
Product Knowledge
- Following product training, tailors KBI's promotional message based upon knowledge of the customer, advises on appropriate product selection, answers customer questions about product functionality and distinguishes KBI products from those of competitors.
- Provides product education on technical and clinical aspects of products to customers, prospective customers and patients.
- Measures, fits, and troubleshoots KBI products.
- Assists with equipment delivery, set-up, follow-up, and service as needed.
Administrative
- Coordinates, prepares, gathers and submits accurate paperwork required for insurance billing in a timely manner.
Compliance
- Demonstrates commitment to the KBI Compliance & Ethics Program, the KBI Code of Conduct, the KBI Sales and Marketing Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code of Ethics, and all supporting and applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
- Treats Protected Health Information (PHI) with the strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Acquires a basic understanding of the field to include regulatory compliance issues and adhere to these guidelines.

Experience/Education
- Minimum of 2 years of healthcare industry experience in customer service or sales related area preferred.
- Orthopedic therapeutic device training preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement preferred.
- Knowledge of orthopedic therapeutic devices and their application preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related healthcare field required.
Work Environment And Physical Demands
- Field based (i.e. physician’s offices, hospitals, clinics, etc.).
- Physical Demands: Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Office deskwork requiring sitting, walking, using phone and computer.
