The OSP (Outside Plant) Project Coordinator II plays a vital role in coordinating and managing telecommunications and fiber optic construction projects. This mid-level position involves overseeing project timelines, ensuring compliance with standards, managing resources, and maintaining clear communication among stakeholders. The OSP Project Coordinator II supports project managers and field teams, ensuring successful project execution from initiation to completion. The primary function of this role is to be responsible for assisting in identifying, planning, and preparing advanced permitting packages for project(s) to be completed ahead of schedule, within budget and in compliance with Company safety and procedural policies. Additional assignments to other Permitting & ROW tasks.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Daily review of existing permit funnel.
  • Assist in assigning permit tasks.
  • Manage permit proposals through established, standardized matriculation process, i.e., Proposal Initiation, Proposal Review, Permit Approved.
  • Update GIS Database, Project Management Tool, and other project related databases with correct status.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on overall project status of permits per market and zone.
  • Identify and review construction permits required for projects.
  • Prepare and submit permitting documents.
  • Attend estimating, pre-construction and project team meetings.
  • Coordinate with internal PMO and Marketing Engineers to review designs and permit timelines.
  • Point of contact for stakeholders which may include both internal and external customers as assigned or delegated by management.
  • Read, analyze, and interpret design plans, technical procedures, contracts or governmental regulations.
  • Initiate, review or approve adjustments or revisions to project plans and schedules as necessary.
  • Manage and work in close relationship with contractors/vendors and ROW permitting agencies to identify and prepare permits.
  • Oversee timely permitting submittal and on time performance of engineering and construction vendors.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and resolutions to project teams, stakeholders, and management.
  • Assist in conducting site visits and inspections to monitor permitting activities and ensure adherence to permit specifications.
  • Assist in processing purchase orders and check requests for permitting costs, i.e., make-ready, engineering, & administrative fees.
  • Assist in managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and processing invoices for payment.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including engineering, operations, and customer service, to coordinate project requirements and resolve project-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, environmental regulations, and company policies throughout the project lifecycle.


QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in project coordination or a similar role, preferably in OSP construction or telecommunications.


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
  • Knowledge of OSP design, construction methodologies, and infrastructure development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards for construction projects is a plus.
