Job Description:
La Crosse Glass & Overhead Door Co., a trusted provider of high-quality glass and door services in the La Crosse, WI area, is seeking a dedicated and reliable Overhead Door Installer to join our growing team. In this role, you will install, maintain, and repair a variety of commercial and residential overhead and garage door systems. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has strong mechanical aptitude, and enjoys delivering excellent service to our valued customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and service overhead doors, garage doors, and related systems for both residential and commercial clients.
- Ensure proper alignment and functionality of doors, tracks, and automatic openers.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of door systems, including motors, sensors, and hardware.
- Measure and fit doors to specifications, ensuring a clean and precise installation.
- Interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical manuals to complete jobs accurately and efficiently.
- Use hand and power tools to install and repair door systems.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing professional and courteous service.
- Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain company tools and vehicles in clean, working condition.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in overhead door installation, carpentry, or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with both commercial and residential door systems.
- Strong mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems on-site.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficient in using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, work at heights, and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Overhead door experience preferred, but will train the right person.
- Experience with automated garage door systems.
