Section 1 Summary of the Purpose and Objective
The packer position is responsible for screening, packing, and boxing quality products from an assembly line.
Section 2 Description of Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Pack corn chips into the box off a chute repeatedly.
2. Assemble boxes lined with a bag and pack chips.
3. Able to screen the product for defects before packing.
4. Inspect boxes to ensure proper weight. On occasion, lift boxes of products weighing up to 35 pounds.
5. Keep work areas clean, adhering to GMP guidelines.
6. Team members must rotate between the different positions on the line.
7. safely perform work.
8. Abide by all company policies/procedures, written or verbal.
9. Work as a team member toward task accomplishments.
10. Perform any other tasks assigned.
Section 3 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required for the Position
1. Tolerate warm/cold environments with temperature ranges from 65 to 90 degrees.
2. Use stands as needed.
3. Flexibility of wrists, hands, and shoulders with some bending, lifting, climbing of stairs, and walking required.
4. Must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Section 4 Training (Equipment & Methods)
1. The designated trainer will conduct job-specific training during the shift.
2. Team members will be evaluated on job performance by the Training Program SOP.
3. Monthly training on a Safety topic and a GMP topic will be conducted by their immediate Supervisor from information provided by the Safety Director and QA Manager.
Section 5 Job Safety Analysis
1. Personal Protective Equipment includes safety glasses and ear plugs.
2. Will be exposed to wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions.
3. Will be occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration.
4. Will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
5. Noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires hearing protection.
