Our practice is in need of RNs who possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for all medical aspects of pre- and post-surgery care, including surgical site care, wound care and restoration of function, use of anesthesia and post-operative pain management. Overall, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safety and well-being of the patient and will work alongside the surgeons to administer medical care.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor patient status.
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by health-care providers.
- Communicate patient condition to health-care providers.
- Document medical history and clinical findings in patient medical records.
- Supervise medical-surgical nursing assistants and unlicensed personnel.
- Assist the surgeon during surgery by circulating in the OR and hand over any items to the surgical tech while keeping the sterile field.
- Monitor surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure their proper use and control.
