A national hospice company is seeking a part time Palliative Nurse Practitioner for the Norfolk and surrounding area. Patient care is a priority and this hospice utilizes several very unique alternative/holistic therapies in conjunction with their quality of care. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) works autonomously but in collaboration with physicians to deliver primary medical care and intraepisodic care for hospice patients. The NP provides advanced practice nursing services through palliation and management of the terminal condition, and developing treatment plans for patients at home and possible other settings which may include: general inpatient units, hospitals, assisted living, independent living, senior housing, and skilled nursing facilities. Work closely with health care agencies to coordinate medical care. Approach all patients and referral sources with a customer service attitude.
Education Requirements
Master's of Science in Nursing- MSN.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of five years nursing experience; clinical nursing care in oncology, hospice, geriatrics, intensive care preferred
License Requirements
Current certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
Certification by a national body (ANCC, NBCHPN, AANP).
Palliative Care ARNP preferred.
