Join the vibrant team at L. Echevarria Attorneys at Law as a Real Estate Paralegal in Lewes, DE. In this position, you'll be instrumental in supporting our esteemed Real Estate and Corporate Attorney by managing essential tasks that allow the attorney to focus on clients and strategic planning.


We seek a proactive professional with robust organizational skills and a dedication to providing exceptional client experiences. While prior experience in real estate transactions is preferred, we highly value a demonstrated ability to establish and execute systems and processes in any professional environment. Although experience in real estate is a plus, it is not a prerequisite. This role offers the chance to be part of a rapidly expanding, forward-thinking law firm.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: $60,000 - $70,000
  • 3 Weeks Paid Time Off (15 days)

Responsibilities:

This person's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for client intake, gather information, provide updates, and maintain confidentiality. Communicate regularly with stakeholders, including clients, lenders, and agents.
  • Collect necessary property and financial details and assist in drafting, editing, and reviewing legal documents such as purchase agreements, deeds, and closing documents.
  • Coordinate real estate transactions in Spanish and English, prepare closing checklists, and schedule closings.
  • Organize physical and electronic files and ensure proper documentation for efficient retrieval.
  • Assist in clearing the title by obtaining required documents from prior settlement companies.
  • Prepare documents for settlement, attend closings, ensure proper signings, and save scanned documents in the appropriate files.
  • Conduct title searches and due diligence, identifying and resolving issues with attorneys and title companies.
  • Perform legal research on real estate matters and provide attorneys with analysis to support client advice.
  • Issue or amend title policies, create post-closing packages, and liaise with lenders for document requests.
  • Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, notarizing documents, handling correspondence, and managing billing records.
  • Support business planning and contract practices with data entry, document drafting, and billing.
  • Manage the post-closing process for real estate transactions.
  • Prepare and issue title policies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure satisfaction of mortgages and liens are properly recorded.
  • Confirm that all closing files are properly finalized and documented.
  • Ensure buyers receive their post-closing package with all necessary documents.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or certification in paralegal studies preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a paralegal or in a supportive legal role.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with legal databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw).
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to client service.
