We're partnered with a well-established law firm with a nationally recognized Intellectual Property practice seeking an experienced Patent and Trademark Paralegal to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a collaborative group of IP professionals supporting a wide array of domestic and international IP matters, with a focus on patent and trademark prosecution, docketing, and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities
Patent Support:
- Prepare and file U.S. and international (PCT) patent applications, amendments, RCEs, and related documents.
- Handle the filing of Information Disclosure Statements and obtain prior art references as needed.
- Record assignments and manage filing requirements with appropriate government entities.
- Liaise with foreign counsel and coordinate international patent filings.
- Monitor and review patent office communications (domestic and foreign) and manage deadlines via docketing systems.
- Support invention disclosure processes and maintain related documentation.
Trademark Support:
- Prepare and submit trademark applications, renewals, and maintenance filings in the U.S.
- Coordinate foreign trademark filings and renewals through direct filings or Madrid Protocol.
- Manage docketing and follow-up for office actions, oppositions, cancellations, and other trademark deadlines.
- Conduct preliminary clearance searches and assist with preparation of client reports.
Portfolio Management:
- Maintain and update IP portfolios using internal management tools.
- Generate regular reports and summaries for internal teams and clients.
- Coordinate with vendors and clients for annuity and maintenance fee payments.
Administrative Duties:
- Draft and manage correspondence with clients, government offices, and international agents.
- Support attorneys with the preparation and review of legal documents and declarations.
- Ensure accurate records by maintaining updated files, dockets, and internal systems.
- Conduct legal research and data compilation as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program preferred
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an IP paralegal with significant patent and trademark docket at a law firm or in-house IP department

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
