Position Summary:
At ACE, we facilitate a full-inclusion model of special education. With 20% of our students qualifying for specialized services, our paraprofessionals are critical to achieving our mission. You are insatiably curious about how to motivate students to engage in learning through appropriate interventions and accommodations in order for students to access standards-aligned, grade-level instruction. Above all, you are a patient optimist - you believe that every student is capable of graduating from college.

Build authentic relationships with families through school events, phone calls, and conferences.

Track progress towards instructional and behavioral goals outlined in students’ Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Communicate student progress with stakeholders (teachers, parents, administrators, service providers).

Collaborate with the ACE Special Education team across the network.
Education and Experience
- You have previous experience working with students.

You hold a high school diploma or an Associates Degree.

Bachelor’s Degree or enrollment in a BA program preferred.

- Ability to speak in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
Physical Demands
To perform essential functions for the role, you should be able to:

Talk, hear and communicate with both adults and children

Use hands or fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls

Walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms

Occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds and climb ladders

In terms of vision, have close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus

Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time while teaching in-person and/or virtual courses.
