Contract CPA Accountant (Part-Time with Growth Opportunity)

The Auto Healer is a fast-growing mobile auto repair company serving Riverside County, Las Vegas, and Denver. We bring trusted mechanics directly to our customers’ driveways, and we’re scaling quickly. To support our growth, we’re seeking an experienced CPA Accountant to reconcile prior years, handle day-to-day bookkeeping, and provide ongoing monthly financial support.
Role Overview
This is a contract (1099) CPA role that will begin with a cleanup and reconciliation project of prior years’ books in QuickBooks. Once complete, the position will transition into an ongoing part-time engagement (around 15 hours per month), with hours expected to grow as the company expands.
Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Bookkeeping
- Enter and categorize daily transactions in QuickBooks
- Match deposits with repair orders and parts invoices
- Ensure labor, parts, and job costs are properly recorded
- Manage accounts payable and receivable (billing, invoicing, collections)
- Monitor vendor accounts and reconcile parts purchases
Accounting and Reporting
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements; resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports for management
- Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing
Payroll and Tax
- Review and manage payroll reports (QuickBooks Payroll)
- File sales tax, payroll tax, and other required business filings
- Support annual tax filing and coordinate with external auditors
Strategic Finance
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Advise management on financial best practices for the automotive repair industry
- Provide data and schedules for year-end audits and tax filings
Qualifications and Skills
- Active CPA license required/preferred
- 3–5 years of accounting experience (automotive repair industry a plus)
- Strong QuickBooks Online expertise
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Solid understanding of accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and bookkeeping
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Compensation
- Contract (1099) role
- $47 per hour
- Initial cleanup project: 20–50+ hours (one-time upfront)
- Ongoing monthly support: around 15 hours per month ($705/month)
- Opportunity for hours to expand as the company grows
