We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle various driving tasks, including loading and unloading cargo.
Responsibilities
- Operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks, ensuring safe transportation of goods to designated locations.
- Perform route driving efficiently while adhering to scheduled delivery times.
- Load and unload cargo, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise.
- Handle heavy lifting as required during loading and unloading processes.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is preferred.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack safely and efficiently.
- Strong route driving skills with knowledge of local roadways and traffic patterns.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
- Ability to lift heavy items safely and effectively as part of the loading/unloading process.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
