Job description
This position play a role in our state-of-the-art USDA-inspected meat processing facility in Kuna, Idaho to harvest live animals and fabricate all meat products and usable byproducts.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Harvest Floor Employee
- Harvest of live animals including but not limited to Beef, Lamb and Ostrich
- Responsibility for the highest standards of safety & cleanliness and staying compliant with all USDA guidelines
- Maintain effective working relationship with USDA inspectors
- Follow, enforce, & provide input on Sustainable Meats policies/protocols; proactively identify real & potential problems with staff/teamwork and infrastructure/facilities, keeping leadership informed of the same
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience at a livestock harvest facility (USDA-compliant preferred)
- Knowledge of USDA Meat inspection regulations
- Impeccable integrity & reliability; thrives in a highly meritocratic work environment and is accustomed to putting team and mission above themselves
- Demonstrated – with references who can corroborate – ability to maintain focus, composure, and a pleasant demeanor
- High energy, ability to stand for long periods and comfortably lift up to 80 lbs
- A team player who seeks to elevate others’ performance to help them improve and advance
