Responsibilities:- Assigned to a pod of hospitals to place patients for that shift
- Coordinates patient placement assignments and re-assignments throughout all hospital units; verifying bed requests to admission orders for placement using various data sources.
- Communicates with intake/lead nurses, hospitalists, unit leaders and charge nurses, and nursing supervisors to place patients, resolve bed shortage conflicts and convey the status of available beds.
- Assist in placement of planned admissions in partnership with unit leaders.
- Establishes effective working relationships with cross-functional team(s).
- Responds timely, effectively and appropriately to deliverables
- Identifies and responds appropriately to both internal and external customer needs utilizing available resources
- Partners with the Clinical Capacity Expeditor to identify and resolve placement or discharge delays.
Education:
- High School Diploma required
Experience:
- 2 years of Clinical Healthcare experience required
Licenses/Certifications:
- BLS (can obtain with 90 days of hire)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Highly organized
- Proficient with technology including Microsoft products and EPIC
- Able prioritize effectively when faced with multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent customer service skills; able to navigate complex or challenging discussions
