Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in memory care, medication administration, and behavior management, with a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and ensure proper documentation.
- Support clients in memory care activities to enhance cognitive function and engagement.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and emotional well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Drive clients to appointments or community activities as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop personalized care plans.
- Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to appropriate personnel.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home care, assisted living, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of memory care techniques and medication administration protocols is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift clients safely and assist them with mobility as required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others are essential traits for this role.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client travel needs.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not required upon hiring; training will be provided.
