Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to patients in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in outpatient care, inpatient services, and a strong understanding of geriatrics. This role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care while maintaining their dignity and comfort.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of patients.
- Monitor and report changes in patients' health status to healthcare professionals.
- Help with mobility and transportation within the facility or during outings.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene and safety protocols.
- Document patient care activities accurately and promptly in compliance with facility policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as outpatient clinics, PICU, Level II trauma centers, medical-surgical units, hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and operating rooms.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and their families.
- Knowledge of geriatric care principles and practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with various medical environments including outpatient services, inpatient care, emergency medicine, and OR settings.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while demonstrating empathy and patience.
- Proficiency in basic medical terminology related to hospital medicine and trauma care.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring high-quality patient care.
