Role Overview
We're looking for a People Business Partner to support our fast-growing Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) teams. This role requires someone with proven, hands-on experience supporting technical and product organizations at scale. You’ll be the go-to thought partner for our CTO, VP of Product, and other EPD leaders—deeply embedded in the work, solving real problems, and building the systems we need to scale.
This is a high-impact, high-trust role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and knows how to build credibility with technical and product leaders. You’ll spend time in the trenches in our San Francisco office, supporting first-time managers, tackling retention and performance, and helping build team clarity and cohesion as we grow globally.
The role is based in San Francisco and requires being in the office at least three days per week to stay closely embedded with the EPD teams.
What You’ll Do
Partner directly with EPD leaders as a trusted advisor with a deep understanding of engineering, product, and design dynamics - on org design, team performance, and leadership challenges, leveraging data to inform strategic decisions, measure the impact of HR programs, and provide actionable insights to leadership
Coach and support managers, especially as they scale technical and product teams and navigate people issues, fostering a culture of accountability and growth
Identify and address retention risks and team friction early, through close contact with managers and ICs
Embed with the EPD org in our SF office—establish trust, gather insight, and help leaders make better decisions while building and sustaining a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Support onboarding and integration for new hires and leaders, helping set up teams for long-term growth and success
Design and implement scalable talent management frameworks, including performance reviews, succession planning, and career pathing, explicitly tailored to technical and product functions in hypergrowth environments
Serve as a key employee relations resource for EPD employees and leaders managing conflicts, and ensuring fair and transparent resolutions
Ensure HR policies and practices comply with local labor laws and scale effectively as the company grows.
What You Have
7+ years as a People Business Partner with significant, direct experience supporting engineering, product, or design organizations
A track record of end-to-end ownership—you’ve seen ambiguous problems, taken initiative, and driven results
Comfort coaching and influencing senior leaders, while also working hands-on with first-time managers
A builder’s mindset—excited to create simple, effective people systems from the ground up
Strong EQ and business judgment—you know how to ask the right questions, navigate complexity, and build trust
Experience working in high-growth environments (bonus: global orgs or distributed teams)
Strong project and program management skills
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable recommendations.
Ability to work from our San Francisco office at least three days per week
Compensation Range
$180,000 - $230,000 USD
