Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various healthcare settings, including hospital medicine, geriatrics, and outpatient care. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health status to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Administer prescribed medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
- Document care provided and any observations regarding client conditions accurately.
Experience
Candidates should have experience or familiarity with the following areas:
- Hospital medicine, particularly in inpatient settings.
- Geriatrics or working with elderly populations.
- Experience in teaching hospitals or clinics is preferred.
- Exposure to Level I or Level II Trauma Centers is a plus.
- Familiarity with Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) protocols is advantageous but not required.
