Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including clinics, hospitals, and specialized care environments. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring they receive the care and attention necessary for their well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support clients with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring their safety during transfers.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required.
- Monitor and document clients' health status, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being.
- Assist in medication management by reminding clients of their medication schedules.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams in various settings such as clinics, teaching hospitals, or Level II Trauma Centers to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Familiarity with care practices in settings such as PICU, OR, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, geriatrics, or inpatient care is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience while providing care.
- Must be able to pass background checks and any required health screenings.
- Certification in CPR or first aid is beneficial but not mandatory.
