Personal Care Attendant
A Personal Care Attendant is responsible for assisting Etelcare clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, ambulation, and otherwise providing support to a client so that he or she may continue to live independently. A Personal Care Attendant may also provide companion and chore services with the goal of meeting a client’s emotional and environmental needs. A Personal Care Attendant must demonstrate a commitment to customer service and a team mentality.
Experience and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- At least 18 years of age
- Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, and current automobile insurance
- Clean criminal history and driver’s record
Competency/Skill Requirements:
- Knowledge and understanding of attendant care and companion services
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including being able to read, write and speak English
- Ability to meet physical demands of the position
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Mature and responsible judgment needed to assist client in meeting his or her goals and ensure confidentiality at all times
- Ability to follow direction and accurately report to supervisor issues or changes in client’s condition
- Ability to use assistive equipment, including Hoyer lift and wheelchairs
