The role you'll contribute:
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs. Functions with a significant level of responsibility, autonomy, and expertise under administrative supervision of pharmacy management personnel. Work to meet highly specialized pharmacy business needs in programs such as Diversion Prevention, Automated Dispensing Machine Support, Informatics, Medication History, Investigational Drugs, or Cleanroom Specialist. Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage, as listed on patient orders, supports pharmacists, and provides distributive pharmacy services to ensure safe and accurate medication services, supporting all those involved in direct patient care.

- Pharmacy Operations * Maintains knowledge of the operational functions: * Central operations * Sterile and hazardous medications compounding * Decentral operations * Controlled substances * Provides support in the appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems. Maintains expertise in electronic medical records processed and accurately interprets records * Maintains proficiency, supports the management of and actively provides coverage for applicable technician specialty position provided by Diversion Prevention Analyst, Automated Dispensing Machine (ADM) Support Specialist, Informatics Specialist, Medication History Specialist, Investigational Drug Specialist or other specialist positions. Follow specific function requirements and competencies listed in this job description for each specialty area * Pharmacy Practice * Facilitates medication safety practices by identifying and reporting potential medication errors such as look-alike sound-alike medications * Prepares and delivers accurate, safe and timely medication * Effectively collaborates with other hospital departments and strategic business unit leaders to advance patient care services and pharmacy programs
- Teamwork and Inter-Professional Collaboration * Presents to assigned areas on time and ready to work and does not exhibit unscheduled absenteeism * Supports continuity between shifts, among pharmacy staff assignments, and across pharmacy practice areas * Works effectively with all members of the healthcare team to ensure the best outcome for the patient * Demonstrates sensitivity to the perspective of the patient, caregiver, or health care colleague in all communications * Actively supports teammates (pharmacists, technicians, managers) * Uses effective negotiation skills to resolve conflicts * Consults with and assists pharmacy managers and pharmacists with compliance and auditing
- Teaching, Training, Precepting, and Mentorship * Mentors new staff and assists with training * Develops and maintains quality training opportunities and relationships for teaching and precepting * Supports pharmacy residency and student experiences, if applicable * Demonstrates desire and aptitude for instructing, modeling, and coaching others * Serves as a consultant to supervisors and administrators to provide education resources in technician specialty areas
- Quality Improvement, Regulatory Compliance, and Accreditation * Supports and participates in medicationuse process improvements led by colleagues and peers * Supports regulatory compliance initiatives and supports institutional accreditation processes * Identifies practice-related and quality issues which require evaluation * Identifies and reports short and long-term obstacles to patient care, medication safety, regulatory compliance, or stewardship or resources
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed :
- High School Grad or Equivalent or equivalent
- 3 Years of Experience Required
- RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Florida
- Current certification from Nationally recognized Board/Association, if applicable per state legislation
- Sterile Compounding Certification, if applicable per state legislation
