Overview
Northridge Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, including skilled nursing facilities. Your expertise in geriatrics and knowledge of anatomy and physiology will be essential in assisting patients with their rehabilitation goals. You will play a vital role in developing care plans and implementing treatment strategies that enhance the quality of life for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct patient assessments and document progress towards rehabilitation goals.
- Provide therapeutic exercises and modalities, including trigger point therapy.
- Educate patients and their families on care plans, discharge planning, and home exercise programs.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and progress using medical terminology.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Uphold safety standards and infection control protocols within the facility.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of geriatrics, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Experience in skilled nursing facilities is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and empathy.
- Ability to develop effective care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes is a plus.
- Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is required.

Pay: $29.23 - $36.57 per hour
