Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Homecare
Provides hands-on therapeutic care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). Homecare PTA will be responsible for assisting licensed PT in implementing training programs to match the specific needs of each patient, along with monitoring clients to ensure they perform exercise correctly. Moreover, you will improve the musculoskeletal of patients and provide support to staff members in conducting rehabilitation programs.
Job Requirements:
- Must have completed an Accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program and an Associate Degree Program.
- Must have completed the National Physical Therapy Exam for Physical Therapist Assistants (NPTE-PTA)
- Must have CPR Certification
Experience:
- Experience in home healthcare (preferred)

Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the supervising Physical Therapist to assess patients' physical conditions, mobility, and limitations in their home environment.
- Monitor and document any changes in the patient's health status and living conditions.
- Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing personalized treatment plans that match the patient's unique needs and objectives.
- Ensure that patients and their caregivers are informed about the exercises and activities aimed at enhancing their mobility and overall physical well-being.
- Assess the safety hazards in the patient's home and suggest changes or equipment to create a safe and easily accessible environment.
- Keep comprehensive and accurate patient records, documenting progress notes, treatment plans, and any alterations in the patient's condition.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care, including physicians, nurses, and social workers.
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations and privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA) in a patient's home.
- Efficiently manages own schedule for different patients and travels to patient’s residences to provide care to patients in different locations.
