Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Instructor-director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical education and experience in teaching pickleball and other racquet sports. This role involves engaging with members of all ages, promoting physical fitness, and fostering a positive learning environment. The instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in activities such as individual and group lessons, and possible tournaments while growing the program from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement weekly lessons and free play time slots that meet the needs of members across different age groups and skill levels.
- Teach pickleball in various platforms, individual and group lessons.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by maintaining a secure environment during classes and activities.
- Provide guidance and support to members and guests in developing their skills and confidence in game play.
- Monitor members and guests progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
- Organize and lead engaging classes that promote teamwork and respect among participants.
- Collaborate with other PTBA staff to create a comprehensive program that meets the needs of the community.
- Grow the membership of PTBA through the Pickleball program.
- Maintain equipment and facilities to ensure they are safe and ready for use.
Qualifications
- Experience in teaching physical education or coaching sports is preferred.
- Proficiency in pickleball is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children and adults alike.
- Experience working in a gym setting is an advantage.
- Knowledge of gym operations and safety protocols related to physical activities.
- Ability to set-up/tear-down portable nets or perform physically demanding tasks as required by the activities taught.
- A positive attitude with a passion for promoting health and fitness among clients.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 – 15 per week
