We are in search of dedicated and experienced Pipelayers to join our construction teams. As a pipelayer at HEI, you will play a crucial role in the execution of our construction projects. Whether it's roadways, bridges, or water infrastructure, your work will have a direct impact on the success and timeliness of our projects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Set proper grades and elevations i.e. flowline, grade stick, string line
- Check slopes for conformance to grading elevations, using levels or lasers
- Connect bell and spigot, sewer and water pipelines
- Cover pipes with aggregate and native material and compact
- Hand dig bell holes to verify existing utility locations
- Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools
- Install and repair water, storm-water and sewer structures and pipe systems within trench shoring shields
- Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors
- Assure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes and behaviors
- Ability to take direction from the Foreman and provide support to peers
- Work safely while adhering to HEI requirements and OSHA regulations
- Maintain dependability and responsibility to be at work on time
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 1 year experience is preferred; but not required
- General knowledge of underground utility work including materials, methods, and tools involved in the installation
- Track record of performing similar tasks safely and accurately
- Ability to repetitively lift and carry at least 60 lbs. on a consistent basis
- Must have flexibility to work nights and weekends
Pay: $22+ per hour; Based on Experience
