Bronx based plumbing and heating company is seeking service helpers/apprentices. Please read entire job post to see required skills and qualifications.
Skilled Job Functions:
- Learns and aids mechanics with day-to-day tasks, such as installation, maintenance, modification and repairs of plumbing and heating systems and equipment
- Assists with the carrying of tools, setting up tools and organizing pipes and fittings, keeping the jobsite neat and organized
- Relays questions to mechanic and other supervisors
- Follows safety procedures and guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills Required:
- General interest in plumbing and heating
- Self-motivated
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally, politely and respectfully with clients and co-workers
- Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl talk and hear
- Vision abilities (with correction) including close, distance, peripheral, depth and the ability to adjust focus
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- The employee will frequently be required to walk, stand, sit, bend, climb, reach and use hands
- The employee will regularly be required to crawl, kneel and lift and/or move objects in excess of 80 lbs.
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to work shift from 10 am to 6 pm and occasional Saturdays
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Punctuality and reliability
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
Pay & Other:
- Pay is commensurate with Experience and Work Performed, but not less than $17 - $21/Hour
- Paid time off, holidays and health benefits available subject to terms of employment
Work Authorization:
- United States work authorization required
