Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commercial Plumbing Department Manager to lead our team in a commercial construction environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing and leadership, including plumbing, and plumbing service. This role requires effective leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations within the department, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage and mentor team members, providing training and support to enhance their skills.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless project execution and communication.
- Conduct regular inspections of work sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Develop project estimates and budgets based on construction plans and specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, and labor hours.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration among staff.
- Manage all phases of plumbing projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Develop and maintain and adhere to project schedules
- Conduct thorough construction estimating to provide accurate pricing for contracts.
- Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
- Implement cost control measures to monitor expenses and maximize profitability.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Prepare and present project updates to stakeholders, providing clear communication on status and challenges.
Experience
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within the commercial plumbing construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction plumbing, and plumbing service.
- Familiarity with field service operations.
- Experience with construction estimating processes.
- Ability to effectively use hand tools and operate machinery safely on construction sites.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating practices and contract negotiation techniques.
- Familiarity with project management
- Demonstrated ability in cost control measures and financial management of construction projects.
- Experience working on construction sites with a solid understanding of safety protocols and site management.
