Overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Portable Toilet Operations Technician to join our team. This hybrid role is responsible for maintaining portable toilet inventory at our yard, preparing units for delivery, making minor repairs, and supporting drivers in the field with light route work as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, and takes pride in keeping equipment clean, safe, and ready for service. This is a hands-on position with opportunities for growth and cross-training in field operations.
Responsibilities
- Clean, sanitize, and inspect all portable toilets before delivery or return to inventory.
- Perform light repairs on units (e.g., door latches, vents, toilet components).
- Ensure each unit is fully stocked with toilet paper, sanitizer, and required signage.
- Maintain a clean and organized yard, staging area, and shop facility.
- Prepare units for delivery by coordinating with dispatch and loading/unloading trucks.
- Support route drivers by assisting with deliveries, pickups, or servicing when necessary.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts of standard and specialty portable units.
- Apply clean, up-to-date decals and interior service tags on all units.
- Report damaged or out-of-service equipment and maintain repair logs.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation protocols during yard and field operations.
Experience
- Prior experience in sanitation, waste services, or portable toilet operations preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 50+ lbs, bending, climbing, and working outdoors.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform minor repairs using hand tools.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Willingness to support drivers in the field and work light service routes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Comfortable using mobile apps or service tracking systems (training provided)
- Proven experience in commercial driving
- Background in delivery driver roles or route driving preferred.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including dump trucks, flatbeds, tankers, and paratransit vehicles.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
