Job Summary
This Solar Farm O&M manager role requires deep experience with Power Electronics solar farm sites. The O&M manager will own the health and availability of multi-hundred-MW Power Electronics inverter fleets. We are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Solar O&M Site Manager to lead operations and maintenance activities at utility-scale solar facilities featuring advanced power‐electronics inverters. The ideal candidate will bring gigawatt-scale experience in managing, commissioning, and troubleshooting large PV farms, ensuring peak performance, reliability, and safety of all inverter and balance‐of‐plant systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day O&M activities for power‐electronics systems (inverters, transformers, switchgear) across one or more utility-scale solar sites.
- Manage commissioning, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for multi-MW inverter arrays.
- Lead root-cause analysis of faults, coordinate rapid parts replacement, and implement long-term reliability improvements.
- Supervise and mentor site technicians and 3rd-party service providers, ensuring compliance with safety protocols (LOTO, NFPA 70E, ISO 45001).
- Collaborate with Remote Operations teams to optimize SCADA alarm settings, data analytics, and KPI reporting.
- Drive continuous‐improvement initiatives, including firmware updates, capacity testing, and vendor performance reviews.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation: O&M manuals, work orders, spare-parts logs, and performance reports.
- Coordinate with EPC, asset-management, and grid-interconnection stakeholders to support capacity testing, interconnection studies, and regulatory audits.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of utility-scale solar O&M experience, with responsibility for multi-hundred-MW / gigawatt-scale power-electronics fleets.
- Deep technical knowledge of high-voltage inverters (e.g., Power Electronics, SMA, SolarEdge), medium-voltage transformers, and balance-of-plant equipment.
- Proven track record in commissioning and sustaining ≥ 80 MW inverter clusters, including firmware management and performance optimization.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience supervising cross-functional teams and managing third-party contractors.
- Proficiency with SCADA platforms, alarm management, and data-driven condition‐monitoring tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; PE license or PMP certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‐management abilities.
Preferred Competencies
- Familiarity with NERC CIP, IEEE 1547, and UL 1741 standards.
- Experience with asset‐management software (CMMS) and advanced analytics dashboards.
- Demonstrated success in implementing preventative‐maintenance strategies that reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
Required Licenses & Certifications
- Journeyman Electrician License (or equivalent state-level electrical license)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety (or 30-Hour General Industry)
- NABCEP PV-Technical Installer (or PV Installation Professional)
- NERC Certified Energy Professional (CEP) or equivalent grid-operations credential

- NFPA 70E Electrical Safety (arc-flash qualification)
- OSHA 500 Trainer (for on-site safety leadership)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
