Power Up Assembly
Vestil Manufacturing, a fourth-generation family-owned business and a prominent figure in material handling equipment production, is currently looking for a meticulous Power Up Assembly Associate to join our team. As a Power Up Assembly team member at Vestil, will be responsible for assembling and testing electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, interpreting prints and labeling diagrams, performing product testing to ensure functionality, and packaging completed products according to customer specifications.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting product problems and customer returns.
- Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
- Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions.
- Assemble electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems or support structures and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly.
- Adjust, repair, or replace electrical and hydraulic or electronic and hydraulic components to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Clean parts, using cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths.
- Use drill press and roll saw to correct dimensions of material used in the assembly of product.
- Review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.
- Test completed unit to ensure product is working according to specifications – Weight test & Road Test.
- Use volt meter to diagnose problems.
- Must be 18 years old.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Strong understanding of written instructions and work-related documents.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Electrical circuit knowledge.
- Basic hand tools.
- Use of overhead crane.
- Forklift operation (stand-up and walk-behind models).
- Skilled in operating drill presses and roll saws to refine materials.
- Proficient in using hand tools and air tools.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in assembly or related field is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Frequent bending, twisting, and squatting, crawling, reaching overhead, and maneuver in tight spaces.
- Good manual dexterity to handle small components and tools, such as screws, cables, and connectors.
- Proficient in English for communication and comprehension.
- Quick hand and arm movement skills for assembly tasks.
- See and hear within reasonably acceptable limits, (this includes the ability to see at a distance and peripherally also includes discerning different colors, primarily red, yellow, and green).
