What You Will Be Doing:

As a Press Brake Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a press brake machine to bend, form, and shape metal sheets and components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role ensures precision and quality in metal fabrication processes, contributing to the production of high-quality parts and assemblies.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:
  • Set up and operate press brake machines using manual, semi-automatic, or CNC controls.
  • Select appropriate tooling and dies based on job specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings to accommodate material type, thickness, and bend requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, protractors, and other precision tools.
  • Ensure parts meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate production records and job logs.
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding job status and issues.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Additional duties as assigned by manager.
Education/Experience:
  • The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Experience with different types of sheet metal (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel).
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools and gauges.
  • Basic math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming is a plus.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
  • Technical training or certification in machine operation or metal fabrication.
  • OSHA 10 or 30-Hour General Industry Certification
  • Forklift Certification
Environmental Job Requirements:
Environment:
  • Most of your time is spent standing/walking.
  • Willing to work in extreme weather conditions and around loud noises.
  • Work at various heights which would include some utilization of ladders, platforms, and scissor lifts.

Physical:

  • Will require appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, etc.) to be worn.
  • Able to max lift 50 lbs. without assistance. May include the use of lifting devices to move components 35 lbs. or more.

Travel:

  • Typically does not require travel.
