About the Role:
Job Summary
Partners with other trainers and team leads to provide training programs for Northeast Georgia Health System entities and users of the electronic health record (EHR) system and other third party systems. Participates in workflow design and system build in order to gain in-depth knowledge of operational needs and ensure the system design supports those workflows. Identifies changes in workflow and develops curriculum and training plans to support the changes. Plans and develops curriculum in accordance with needs assessments. Pursues new developments in education and training methodologies and implements as deemed appropriate. Promotes a climate for the participant that encourages learning and self-motivation through the application of principles of adult learning. Under the direction of a Team Lead or application analyst, functions as an ongoing liaison between operational leadership and ITS teams in providing in person consultation and support for end users. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.

Minimum Job Qualifications
  • Licensure or other certifications: Required to successfully complete Epic Certification within 6 months of hire date and maintain the new version status with Epic.
  • Educational Requirements: Associates Degree. Associate degree or technical degree required. In lieu of degree, will consider individuals with extensive Training or Healthcare operations experience.
  • Minimum Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of training or operational work experience.

  • Preferred Experience: Experience in IT technical training used by healthcare professionals is highly desired.

  • Knowledge of, and ability to apply, adult learning principles utilizing a variety of training modalities
  • Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate technical training for a variety of projects and end user groups
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptation to a variety of work settings; and excellent communication, organizational and project management skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in including Microsoft Office suite; conferencing technology and Learning Management Systems and e-learning creation tools
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, and ability to communicate and collaborate one-on-one as well as with groups.

  • Manage multiple assignments effectively and pay close attention to detail

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Create, update, and enhance EHR and business system training documentation including: Manuals, outlines, curricula, training scripts, objectives, handouts, quick reference guides, tests, proficiency assessments, lab scenarios and post-training support materials and evaluations.
  • Create multi media content to be used by end users using distance learning tools.
  • Collaborate with analysts, trainers, operational leaders and front line staff in job analysis and the development of training content, job aids and competency assessments.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of schedules, registrations, and transcripts in Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Participate in development, testing, refreshes and updates of various training environments.
  • Plan and develop visionary curricula for their end users; be forward thinking for approaches to adult education.
  • Deliver system training across the organization. Demonstrate flexibility with schedules, training approaches and travel across the organization.
  • Builds and maintains training environments for the EHR and other third party systems.
  • Analyze evaluation and assessment data and review with management, analysts, and other stakeholders. Adjust training schedule, content and facilitation methods in response as necessary.
  • Design, conduct and analyze training needs assessments.
  • Deliver professional, knowledgeable and constructive feedback to staff, providers, training team and IT staff.
  • Demonstrate initiative in researching and participating in current evidence-based clinical or professional development activities.
  • Participate in a variety of orientation programs requiring technical system training delivery. Examples include Provider Orientation; Nursing and Clinical Orientation; Allied Health Orientation; Business Systems and Leadership Onboarding.
  • Participate in operational job shadowing and other forums to assess end user adoption and need for additional training.
  • Participate in on call and triage schedules as assigned.
  • Manage training work que for training issues to ensure prompt resolution of reported issues and service requests.
  • Represent training in the ITS Change Control process to ensure appropriate and timely communication to end-users and development of new curriculum as indicated. .
