Elite Home Health, LLC is a fast-paced, patient-focused home health company based out of Bedford, IN. We are seeking to hire a skilled and reliable PA Assistant to join our team! This role plays a key part in ensuring timely and accurate processing of prior authorization requests, minimizing delays in services, and serving as a liaison between patients, internal staff, and insurance carriers.
Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Obtain prior authorization supporting documentation per payer requirements for services to be rendered and ensures authorization information is documented in the appropriate systems
- Process authorization requests in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate and detailed records in the EMR system, ensuring each patient’s chart reflects the status and outcome of their authorization
- Obtain accurate patient information and enter required data (non-clinical and structured clinical data) into the PA spreadsheet
- Update and manage the PA spreadsheet as authorization statuses change
- Monitor and respond to payer communications in a timely manner, including denials and requests for additional information
- Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers
- Communicate regularly with patients regarding the status of their authorizations, estimated timelines, and next steps
- Collaborate with billing and clinical staff to ensure streamlined coordination of care and claims
- Contact patients to obtain information to accurately complete authorization requests in a timely manner
Qualifications/Skills:
- Must perform and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently and work well under pressure
- High School diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in a healthcare office environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, required
- Understanding of Medicaid insurance programs
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task with minimal supervision
- Have critical thinking skills
- Ability to problem solve effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good, friendly and professional rapport with patients, providers and co-workers
- Valid Driver's License
- Must pass a background check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
