Job Overview
We are looking for experienced Private Duty Caregivers with a minimum of 7 years of specialized experience in senior dementia and/or Alzheimer's care. The ideal candidate should be compassionate, reliable, and flexible, with a passion for enhancing the lives of seniors. This role may involve providing in-home care services, as well as support in assisted living, memory care, and nursing communities in Baton Rouge, Prairieville, Plaquemines, Denham Springs, Watson, and Gonzales.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized, compassionate care to seniors with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s or to clients who may need assistance in their homes post-rehab.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication reminders, and mobility support
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health or behavior to family members and Dedicated Sitters
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for clients
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the Dedicated Sitters team.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of verifiable experience in senior care, including dementia and/or Alzheimer’s patients.
- Proven ability to handle complex care needs, including behavioral challenges associated with dementia.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (travel to client homes in Baton Rouge, Prairieville, Plaquemines, Denham Springs, Watson, and Gonzales is required).
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet client scheduling needs.
- Current certifications (e.g., CNA, CPR, or First Aid) are preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
