Overview:
D Z Strad Violin Shop in White Plains, NY is seeking a talented and experienced instrumental teacher to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in playing and teaching violin, viola, cello, double bass, or piano and will be committed to providing fun, high-quality instruction tailored to each student's needs and goals.
Duties:
- Develop personalized lesson plans that align with the goals and skill level of each student.
- Teach students fundamental techniques, repertoire, music theory, and performance skills.
- Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to help students progress and reach their full potential.
- Communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians to track progress and address any concerns.
- Prepare students for recitals, auditions, competitions, and other performance opportunities as needed.
- Stay up to date on local performance and ensemble opportunities.
- Communicate effectively and proactively with D Z Strad regarding scheduling and teaching availability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in music education, performance, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in private instruction - current Music Education students will be considered in lieu of experience.
- Proficiency in playing and teaching one or more string instruments (violin, viola, cello, double bass, or piano).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability and willingness to motivate and inspire students of all ages and skill levels.
- Organized, reliable, and punctual.
Schedule:
- Part-time hours, set your availability semester by semester.
