We are looking for a dependable Certified Pharmacy Technician to assist in typing and compounding prescriptions for our patients. You will work under the guidance of a pharmacist and pharmacy tech leads, ensuring the efficient operation of the pharmacy. Attention to detail and reliability are essential, as this role carries significant responsibilities.
Our Expectations
The role of a Pharmacy Technician at Musely Compounding Pharmacy is physically demanding. Technicians spend most of the day on their feet, engaging in various activities such as lifting heavy bowls of compounded creams, walking throughout the facility, pouring ingredients into hoppers, and standing under a hood while preparing creams, hair serums, and capsules. This position is essential for maintaining the efficiency and quality of our pharmacy operations.
Therefore, candidates must meet the following physical requirements:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Responsibilities
- Accurately type and verify prescriptions electronically, ensuring all information is complete and correct.
- Compound multiple large batches of creams (over 500 bottles) through weighing, mixing, milling, and pumping.
- Prepare multiple large batches of capsules (over 150 bottles).
- Sort, stock, label medications, and monitor inventory levels.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as record-keeping (as assigned).
- Adhere to all security measures and quality standards in compliance with current USP 795 and USP 800 regulations.
Skills
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Proven experience in retail, hospital, or compounding pharmacy settings.
- Successful completion of a pharmacy technician program or relevant education.
- Familiarity with online prescription systems.
- Understanding of weights and measurements.
- Knowledge of pharmacy law and medical terminology.
- Dependable and detail-oriented.
Hours of Operation
7:30am - 5:30pm, Monday through Friday - including weekend hours. This is a Part-Time position so the hours may vary.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
