JOB SUMMARY
The Processing Supervisor is responsible for direct oversight of processing medical marijuana plant material into final concentrated and infused products for medical patients. This position will manage day-to-day operations in a regulated environment through a team of technicians for processes including extraction, post-processing, and portioning. This position may include participating in product development and is responsible for supporting future product launches and methods of extraction. This position will report directly to the Operations Manager as well as working closely with other departmental heads to ensure the production of high-quality products in an efficient manner.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Manage and maintain the daily operations of the Processing department by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing company and regulatory procedures and policies
- Responsible for all processes, equipment, and supplies related to Processing functional areas
- Responsible for proper weighing, labeling, and documentation of all products in accordance with state and local regulations as well as the tracking of batch numbers and other necessary measurable data in internal spreadsheets
- Schedule and direct the performance of assigned staff to meet production goals
- In charge of troubleshooting various portioning equipment issues and responsible for contacting vendors of portioning equipment for any matters that cannot be solved in-house
- Responsible for department-wide inventory and ordering of necessary items
- Provide for effective employee relations through professional communication, coaching, training, and development
- Facilitate issue resolution to enable fast improvements and quality working relationships
- Monitor employee compliance with all rules and regulations; assist in the drafting and delivery of progressive discipline where appropriate.
- Ensure all SOPs, checklists and other relevant documents are up to date and all employees have been trained and certified as proficient.
- Other projects/tasks, as requested by direct manager.
- Must be willing and able to occasionally work a flexible schedule as the business needs demand, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate or bachelor’s degree in a science discipline (biology, chemistry, etc.) (preferred but not required)
- 2-3 years working experience in marijuana processing (required)
- Experience managing a team (required)
- Intermediate understanding of computer functions including e-mail, office, and general software (required)
- Experience handling botanical raw material processing, product manufacturing, and quality assurance and control protocols (required)
- Working knowledge of cannabis/cannabinoid science including but not limited to extractions, formulations, and medicine production
- Experience working in a professional manufacturing setting and comfortable working with chemicals, production, laboratory equipment, and regulated substances (required)
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:
- Willing to work varying shifts
- Able to stand for extended periods of time on concrete, kneel, bend, twist, and climb a ladder
- Able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds
- Hand dexterity
