We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Produce Clerk to join our team at North Stockton Grocery Outlet! This full-time role is essential to keeping our produce department fresh, organized, and fully prepped for store opening. If you take pride in your work, love working early, and enjoy creating eye-catching displays, this could be a great fit.
You’ll handle everything from ordering and pricing to culling, unloading, and prepping the floor — all to ensure our customers walk into a clean, fresh, and fully-stocked produce section each day. Morning and weekend availability required.
Key Responsibilities
- Place and manage produce orders to ensure proper in-stock levels
- Cull old or damaged produce to maintain freshness and reduce waste
- Build attractive and organized produce displays
- Accurately price and label all items in the department
- Prep the department before store opening (store opens at 7 AM)
- Unload pallets efficiently while maintaining the cold chain to protect product freshness
- Maintain cleanliness in prep areas, coolers, and display tables
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Lift up to 50 lbs and work in coolers as needed
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail — you care about presentation and freshness
- Timely and dependable — shows up on time and ready to work
- Works with pace — able to move efficiently and stay productive
- Self-driven — takes initiative and ownership of the department
- Creative and strategic — enjoys planning for big displays and seasonal events instead of ordering the same routine product mix
- Previous produce or grocery experience is a plus, but not required

Pay: Starting at $16.50 per hour
Expected Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
