Position: Shop Scheduler / Planner

We are seeking a Shop Scheduler/Planner to lead daily execution and coordination of project schedules in our custom manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of experience in shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, or fabricated tank manufacturing/construction, including at least 1 year in scheduling, planning, or project management.
This role is not desk-bound. The Scheduler/Planner is expected to make daily rounds through the shop, warehouse, and office to check status, set priorities, and resolve delays. This person must drive clarity across teams, update schedules in real time, and hold stakeholders accountable. Experience in a job shop or engineered-to-order environment is strongly preferred.
This is a safety-sensitive position subject to pre-employment and random drug testing, including THC. In accordance with Oklahoma law, individuals in safety-sensitive roles must be free from the influence of THC regardless of medical marijuana license status.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily rounds to gather real-time project updates, confirm job progress, and communicate priorities directly with shop leads, welders, machinists, and project managers.
- Set daily and weekly objectives with internal project teams to maintain alignment on schedule, quality, and material readiness.
- Communicate with internal staff and customers to define project scope, documentation requirements, and delivery expectations.
- Participate in project meetings and customer update calls; provide clear and timely reporting on status and risks.
- Own the master shop schedule—monitor milestones, adjust for delays, and drive proactive problem solving.
- Expedite materials and coordinate vendor deliveries to avoid disruptions to the workflow.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement adjustments to improve output and on-time delivery.
- Support company reputation through reliable, transparent, and professional communication.
- Report to executive management with clear summaries of progress, priorities, and issues requiring escalation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years in manufacturing of heat exchangers, pressure vessels, or similar custom-fabricated equipment.
- At least 1 year of experience in shop scheduling, production planning, or project coordination.
- Familiarity with ASME Section VIII, welding methods (SMAW, SAW, TIG), machining, and NDE processes.
- Proficient at reading fabrication drawings and understanding how shop processes impact timelines.
- Knowledge of procurement lead times, fabrication sequencing, and common delay drivers.
- Proficiency in Gantt charts, Windows-based PCs, Excel, Outlook, PDF software, and schedule reporting.

Additional Requirements
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.
- Must reside in or be willing to commute to the Tulsa, OK area. No relocation assistance is available.
- This position requires daily presence on the shop floor and physical plant—remote work is not available.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
