Production Underwriter

Must have current insurance experience and hold a P&C license.

Position Summary:

This position involves day-to-day responsibilities that require independent judgement and discretion, contributing to the department’s ongoing success.

Essential Functions & Basic Duties:

• Perform underwriting of all new and renewal program business.
• Maintain and strengthen current program carrier relationships.
• Monitor and evaluate programs for profitability through loss monitoring & rate monitoring
• Work with incumbent carrier and new potential carriers in negotiating and analyzing coverage terms, conditions and rates to successfully renew program.
• Assume ownership of gathering program data, loss information, and exposure data and prepare submission.
• Gather program Intelligence-when non-renewing or not binding new business quote. Maintain spreadsheet of same.

Education and Work Experience:

• College Graduate
• Property & Casualty license
• At least 3 years of program underwriting experience

Salary:

The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $64,000 – $90,000 annually, plus benefits, and can vary based on location.
