Job Overview
Advance is seeking a dedicated and experienced Produce Lead to join our team in a dynamic grocery store environment. The Produce Lead will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the produce department, ensuring that all products are fresh, well-stocked, and presented attractively. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a passion for quality produce.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train produce department staff to ensure high standards of customer service and product quality.
- Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and managing product rotation to minimize waste.
- Assist customers with inquiries about produce items, providing knowledgeable recommendations and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Load and unload deliveries of fresh produce, ensuring proper handling and storage practices are followed.
- Operate cash registers accurately during peak hours and assist with retail sales transactions as needed.
- Clean and maintain the produce department area, ensuring it is organized, visually appealing, and compliant with health regulations.
- Utilize pallet jacks for efficient movement of products within the department.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Knowledge of produce items and their proper handling is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with inventory control processes is beneficial.
- Ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods while performing various tasks.
- Familiarity with cash register operations is advantageous but not required; training will be provided.
