Overview
We are seeking a Program Coordinator to support the oversight, coordination, and data management of Colorado’s healthcare initiatives. This role focuses on expanding access to naloxone and advancing overdose prevention strategies across hospitals, clinics, labor and delivery units, emergency departments, and surgical programs throughout the state.
The Colorado Healthcare Initiatives are part of The Naloxone Project’s mission to reduce preventable overdose deaths by embedding evidence-based harm reduction practices into healthcare systems. The Program Coordinator will help implement and sustain clinical partnerships, provide technical assistance, manage program data, and support innovation in substance use disorder care within both hospital and non-hospital clinical settings.
- Support the expansion and implementation of take-home naloxone programs in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings.
- Collaborate with clinical teams across emergency departments, L&D units, surgical teams, and outpatient clinics to build capacity and integrate naloxone distribution into existing workflows.
- Provide technical assistance and training to clinical staff on naloxone distribution, stigma reduction, overdose risk assessment, and best practices in patient-centered care.
- Maintain clear, organized records of enrolled healthcare partners and their naloxone distribution programs.
- Monitor and manage data collection efforts; compile and share program data, reports, and progress updates with leadership and partners.
- Assist in the development and distribution of educational materials, implementation guides, and operational toolkits for healthcare partners.
- Coordinate inventory management of naloxone and educational supplies, and assist with restocking and packaging naloxone kits as needed.
- Support communication and outreach efforts to promote awareness of naloxone access in healthcare settings.
- Assist in general administrative and logistical support for program operations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in public health, nursing, social work, human services, health sciences, clinical sciences, health administration, or related field.
Essential Qualifications & Desired Work Experience:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Strong writing, presentation, and training skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across systems and engage with partners.
- Familiarity with harm reduction or healthcare systems is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Work Environments.
- Demonstrated ability as a self-starter who can prioritize and conduct multiple activities.
- Valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and ability to travel within Colorado as needed (up to 15%).
