Overview
The Proposal Developer serves as a strategic contributor within Gallagher’s GB Specialty team, responsible for driving new business opportunities and enhancing client retention through the creation of high-impact, client-focused sales and proposal materials. This role blends project management, creative storytelling, and business intelligence to support the development of RFP responses, new business presentations, stewardship reports, and critical sales communications.
How you'll make an impact
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, this role drives new business revenue and enhances client retention by providing strategic consulting, creative solutions, and project management services for RFP responses, new business presentations, and key client communications. It supports Sales Teams in attracting and retaining sophisticated clients by ensuring all external sales materials align with Gallagher Bassett’s professional quality standards and brand identity, while working with production teams to ensure materials are comprehensive and meet client deadlines. Additionally, it directs Gallagher’s largest revenue-generating bidding and proposal projects, overseeing the entire process from opportunity generation to successful implementation, and is responsible for leading, planning, scheduling, and ensuring the timely development and delivery of high-quality responses to business opportunities, from pre-RFP to post-submission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting standards, defining processes, and staff training
- Addressing problems that cross organizational boundaries, manage the win rate, and ensure the win rate is continuously improving
- Managing the successful development and submission of proposals through effective collaboration across teams that include internal staff, corporate partners, consultants, and supporting vendors
- Leading and analyzing RFI, RFQ, RFPs and other bid documents for requirements
- Performing rigorous quality assurance checks on draft and final documents
- Insures the proposal schedule, outline, compliance matrix
- Proposal Development Plan while providing insight, leadership, and work guidance to authors on all proposal content.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree and 6 years related experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the insurance brokerage business.
- PMI certification (or similar) documenting experience in project management.
- Possess excellent leadership, communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Understanding of managing and writing proposals.
- High proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
Desired:
- Prior exposure to Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance is strongly preferred
- Strong foundational understanding of proposal development.
- Experience with Salesforce, InDesign, database management systems.
