As a Public Area Attendant, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a welcoming and pleasant environment for guests. You will be responsible for the upkeep of public spaces and amenities throughout the resort, including comfort stations, restrooms, laundry areas, outdoor spaces, fitness center, commons area and recreational areas. You will work as part of a team to deliver outstanding service that meets and exceeds guest expectations while ensuring a clean, safe, and inviting atmosphere for all visitors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain Cleanliness of Comfort Stations:

  • Restrooms & Showers: Clean and sanitize restrooms, showers, sinks, countertops, and floors regularly. Ensure all supplies (e.g., toilet paper, soap, paper towels) are stocked.
  • Laundry Rooms: Ensure laundry facilities are kept clean, including wiping down machines, folding tables, and maintaining cleanliness in floors and counters.
  • Trash & Recycling: Empty trash cans in public areas, replace liners, and maintain cleanliness. Collect and dispose of recycling properly.

Guest Service & Interaction:

  • Greeting Guests: Provide friendly and approachable service to guests in public areas. Answer any questions guests may have about the resort and its amenities.
  • Respond to Requests: Address guest concerns or requests promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive guest experience.
  • Assist with Special Events: Help with preparation and cleanup of special events or group activities, ensuring the venue is clean and safe for guests.

Safety & Maintenance:

  • Monitor Conditions: Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues (e.g., broken equipment, slippery floors) to the supervisor or appropriate team.
  • Pest Control: Be vigilant for any signs of pests or insects in public spaces and report accordingly.
  • Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and maintain safety signage when cleaning.

Stocking & Inventory Control:

  • Supplies: Ensure all public areas are well-stocked with necessary cleaning supplies, toiletries, and guest amenities.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with maintaining inventory for public areas, notify supervisors when stock is low or needs replenishing.

Team Collaboration & Support:

  • Work as a Team: Collaborate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Training: Participate in ongoing training sessions to learn about new cleaning products, tools, and procedures.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Log Issues: Keep a daily log of any maintenance or cleanliness issues, as well as guest interactions that may need follow-up.
  • Provide Feedback: Communicate any areas of improvement for public areas to supervisors or management.

Miscellaneous

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or general manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, or in a similar hospitality role, particularly in resorts or hotels.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members.
  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to notice details in cleanliness and organization, ensuring a high standard of quality.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, walking, and cleaning for extended periods.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to handle unexpected situations and guest requests with professionalism and efficiency.

  • Friendly & Approachable: Ability to interact with guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Team Player: Works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and guest service.
  • Dependable: Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
