GENERAL SUMMARY
Under general supervision but according to established procedure, patrols hospital areas, assist with combative patients, locks, unlocks doors, and performs similar related duties in order to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, employees and visitors.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTES
1. Patrol hospital buildings and associated areas in order to detect and prevent theft, vandalism, fire and other threats to Hospital safety or security.
2. Stands-by in Emergency Room or adjacent hallway, assisting patients in and out of vehicles or wheelchairs, and assisting hospital staff in calming or restraining hostile, combative, agitated and intoxicated patients and relatives.
3. Respond to all call from various hospital areas; assist with calming or restraining combative or disturbed patients and escorts undesirable individuals from Hospital premises when necessary.
5. Performs related duties such as escorting employees to automobiles after dark, preparing reports, escorting prisoner patients, deposing of used syringes, receiving and releasing items from lost and found, and so on.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must have high school diploma
PERC Certification required, F.O.I.D. a plus
CPR and CPI Certification preferred
On-the-job training and experience in order to acquire a thorough knowledge of Hospital areas and facilities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 37.5 per week
