Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that patient care meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough reviews of patient care documentation to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to identify areas for improvement in patient care practices.
- Monitor adherence to protocols related to infection control, medication administration, and patient safety.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Provide training and support to nursing staff on best practices and quality assurance measures.
- Analyze data related to patient outcomes, incidents, and compliance metrics to inform decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation for accreditation surveys and audits by regulatory bodies.
- Engage in case management activities, ensuring that patient needs are met throughout their care journey.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience in acute care, critical care, or long-term care settings is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Epic or Cerner is a plus.
- Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, as well as NCQA standards.
- Knowledge of various nursing specialties including but not limited to:
- Emergency medicine - Hospice & palliative medicine - Geriatrics - Pediatrics - Behavioral health - Infectious disease care - Pain management - Home & community care experience * Strong skills in patient assessment, documentation, and communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Experience with quality assurance processes, case management, or health coaching is advantageous.
- Understanding of relevant laws such as HIPAA and workers' compensation law is essential.
