Located in Franklin, Louisiana, our team builds aluminum and steel vessels that meet the highest standards of durability and performance. We’re growing and looking for a Quality Structural Auditor to join our Quality Assurance team at the Franklin facility.
Position Summary
The Quality Structural Auditor is responsible for verifying that our vessels meet structural and fabrication quality standards before delivery. You’ll inspect welds, verify conformity with engineering drawings, audit production processes, and help drive continuous improvements. This role reports directly to the QA Supervisor and supports the overall Quality Assurance program under the direction of the QA Manager.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform structural audits on in-process and completed vessels to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, internal standards, and regulatory requirements.
· Conduct visual weld inspections and verify structural assemblies are built to spec using aluminum or steel fabrication methods.
· Document audit findings clearly and accurately for project records and internal reporting.
· Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and QA teams to address quality issues and drive corrective actions.
· Recommend and support improvements to QA procedures and inspection methods.
· Represent the Quality department during internal reviews and when interacting with customer and regulatory inspectors.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and classification requirements (e.g., ABS, USCG, MIL-STD).
· Assist with training or mentoring on quality-related topics as needed.
· Availability for flexible work hours including nights and weekends when required.
Required Experience and Skills
· 3+ years of experience in aluminum or steel fabrication—ideally in a shipyard or marine construction environment.
· Strong understanding of welding practices, structural assemblies, and fabrication processes.
· Familiarity with quality systems, inspection procedures, and documentation best practices.
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols.
· Solid written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Previous hands-on experience in welding, fitting, or structural inspection is strongly preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
