Position Summary:
As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a crucial role in delivering quality healthcare services by conducting radiographic procedures to aid in the accurate diagnosis of diseases and injuries. Your expertise in operating radiology equipment and your keen attention to detail will ensure precise imaging results. Beyond radiology duties, you will also provide invaluable back and front office support, ensuring the seamless operation of our medical office. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication, supporting both the healthcare provider and patients. Essential Job Duties:
• Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries.
• Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
• Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to produce images of a patient's tissues, organs, bones, and vessels for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the medical provider.
• Prepares patient for radiologic procedures, answers technical questions, and offers pre-procedure advice.
• Ensures patient care, comfort, and safety, following established radiologic requirements and regulations.
• Calibrate and maintain radiology equipment.
• Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; administering medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills as directed; drawing blood; preparing patients for x-rays; taking electrocardiograms; removing sutures; changing dressings.
• Conducting occupational health tests, including Audiometry, Spirometry, and fit testing.
• Assist providers with workers' compensation injuries, administer first aid, and conduct drug screening and alcohol collection.
• Maintain accurate records of all collections.
• Assist in scheduling appointments and coordinating services with other healthcare providers.
• Track and complete referrals in coordination with adjusters and outside vendors.
• Communicate test results to patients and healthcare providers as directed.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and proper storage of PHI.
• Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
• Coordinate clinic logistics and equipment setup and breakdown at various work sites; travel to different work sites as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating motivation, reliability, organization, and punctuality.
Requirements
Required Licenses and Certifications:
- California Limited X-ray Permit or Radiologic Technologist Certification. Certification as a radiologic technologist by the state and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current American Heart Association BLS/AED Certification.
Education, Skills, and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
- Prior experience in an occupational health setting preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records.
- Current driver license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel, as required.
